Default PSU Question

Can a power supply simply die out after a certain length of time. Do PSU's wear out and die without adding new hardware to bog it down? I think my PSU is going out. Thanks.

PSU's have a rated life, some are 100,000 Hours, depending on load and how much they are used they will die, its just a matter of time.

PSU's usually have a lifespan according to how much you pay to get it. you pay a lot for a PSU, it'll last a long time. you buy a cheap one, it won't last long.

One of my computers ran on a $20 PSU for two and a half years with no problems at all, and even then I threw it away while it still worked. Haha. Ain't that luck?
