my power supply blew a fan and i need to replace it, how long do i leave the psu unplugged before i open it? i have a spare im using now so it doesnt matter how long i have to wait.

You don't. No matter how long you wait there is still and will always be a charge retained in the capacitors. I highly reccomend against opening it.

AND if you absolutly MUST, have thick! (Well not too thick) rubber gloves on.

I would just throw it out, or sell it to someone who is ignorant enough to do it.
