Servers most likely.
Maybe. Could be a central office, or some other communications facility. We had facility UPS at our transmitter and receiver sites that used banks of 12V car/marine batteries.

Yeah it couldn't have been anything too big using just lawnmower size batteries but 25 could still go for a while I guess.
