Programs randomly freezing...

Alright so i posted a while ago about advice on new computer parts. I bought them and everything seems to run fine, except one thing.

I'm not sure what's causing that but sometimes when i start my computer, after it's booted, almost every program i try to open will freeze. So then i shut down the programs and try them again but it still freezes. Everytime that happens i need to restart and it's usually all fine after that.

It's not that big of a deal since restarting is pretty fast with an SSD but it is getting pretty annoying.

Here are my current specs:
Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H
Intel Core i5 3570K LGA1155 3.4GHZ
Corsair XMS3 CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 SSD
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC 980MHZ 2GB
Antec High Current Gamer 620W
Seagate 500gb SATA HDD
Western Digital 250gb SATA HDD

I personally have the feeling the SSD is the culprit but then is there any way to test SSDs?

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a program made to check the health of your SSD. You might need to update the firmware.

You can use speedfan or crystalmark to check health.
