Default processor problem?!

ok i think i may have a damaged cpu whis is causing my gaming problems.
this was an arithmatic and a cpu multi media benchmark
I ran sisoftware sandra

celeron d 2.53
2741mips
1219mflops

an amd duron 800mhz (outscores my 1 year old processor)
3324mips
1266mflops

so basically that duron owns my pretty much brand new celeron d!!?!?!?!?!
what you guys think?

Maybe it is a mistake. But I wouldn't be surprised if this is true.

could be due to many things. i would point the finger at a decaying windows installation with too many background processes. anything taking cpu cycles would influence the score you get on the benchmark. i would check the clock speed of your processor, in rare cases i have known peoples computers to have been underclocked randomly somehow

This shows that AMD owns no matter its clock speed

Call Intel and RMA the processor. They have a very fast turn around.
