Hi, I'm R.J. I'm new to the forum and I have a huge probem.

My hard drive recently failed and I was forced to get an old one and use it. The problem is before, mine had windows vista on it, and this one has windows 7 (I know it's technically not older but I still like vista :) ) but now it says I have an illegitimate copy of windows and it says I have no sound device. I don't know how to get a sound device??? My sound card is definitely in my laptop and even hooking up speakers won't work, kinda weird.

Anywho any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

right click my computer, click manage, select device manager from the list, im guessing theres a unknown device listed, right click the unknown and click update driver.

usually the illegal copy msg goes away for me after a reboot.

The whole "illegal" thing isn't really the biggest problem it's mainly just being able to use my speakers. I do editing for friends and I need to have sound to edit :).
