Default Problems installing windows.

Okay, so I'm trying to install Windows XP Home. And I keep getting errors. One was uh "setup failed to install product catalogs..." But the real problem is. I can't use my mouse/keyboard to hit okay on any of these windows for some reason. And it says my mouse and keyboard are unplugged afterwards. And, yes, they're USB. Can anyone help?
