i used a western digital external usb drive to transfer info while reformating a laptop. Although i'm an idiot and accidentally deleted the usb drive along with the hard drive on the laptop. It wiped out everything, now I can't open the usb drive. my computer reads there is a usb connect but i can't open it up. I tried to install the driver disk that came with the usb drive but still nothing. do I need to reformated this again, if so how do I do that with out being able to find it?

Doesn't it suck when you spend all that time transfering data, only to have it wiped out? :S

indid , but thats not very helpful :beard:
anyway 2 things you can do
1) recover its partition/s with all of the data , use acronis disk director suite or paragon partition manager , dont know if they support usb drives
2) use data recovery software, i recommend easyrecovery pro/r-studio/file scavenger
