Default Problems with BRAND new CD burner

Hello everybody.

I am having trouble burning audio files onto a CD with my BRAND NEW Laptop.

I purchased my laptop this Thursday (10-22-09) and have used it only twice since then (I have not downloaded anything on it). It is this model of Laptop

HP - Laptop with Intel® Pentium® Processor - Piano Black - G60-535DX

It has a CD and DVD burner built into it. When I try to burn CDs it always says that there was an error and for me to check to see that the Burner is properly attached. I don't see how the Burner couldn't be properly attached when it is internal. I don't think that it has anything to do with the CDs either since they are brand new.

Does anyone have any idea about as to what might be going on?

If so, please post.

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Problems with BRAND new CD burner

Have you installed the latest service pack for Windows and installed the latest drivers from the burner manufacturer's site ? Also, you could check the format type of the CDs again, you might have a CD type that is not compatible with the drive.
