I recently formated my hard drive so had to get video drivers for my radeon 9800 pro. I downloaded them from the ati site and installed them. My problem is that afterwards my computer is super slow, when i ctrl+alt+del, it says that i have 100% cpu usage. BTW i have tried reinstalling and had the same outcome.

Next I tried Omega drivers and they had the same effect. When I run without any drivers installed my cpu usage is 5-30%, but the screen is jerky when I scroll pages and i doubt any game would run. I really need to have some drivers installed, but I can't figure this one out.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

do ctrl alt del again and under processes which process is using most ram?

b4 u formated and reinstalled did u have ne problems with your video cards?

it's probably CLI.exe that is using ur cpu. i had a problem with ATI drivers for my 9800 pro a couple months ago. i did the same thing and switched to omega drivers.

when u swapped drivers, did you uninstall the ATI drivers first? make sure you uninstall the current driver before installing a new one.
