I type the word hello in a notepad but saved it as hello.exe. And when I opened it, an error occurs - NTVDM CPU illegal instruction... unable to delete file. What will I do?

I cannot rename or delete it using the command prompt. I says The process cannot access the file bec. it is being used by another process.

It sounds like it's still running.

CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to your Task Manager. Click the processes tab to view all running programs. Find your hello.exe and end it. That should fix the problem.

I'm a little confused on why you would do such a thing, but oh well. Try that out and you should be good to go.

If not... you could always d/l a linux live cd and use it to delete the file when Windows isn't looking :), I use this technique on viruses all the time... but it won't work for ntfs drives, only fat 32.
