Default printer randomly stopped printing

my HP laser Jet 2300d just stopped printing from my desktop PC today. It's connected via USB. I get a "this document failed to print" message for anything i try to print.

The same printer is also hooked up to my laptop via the parallel port and it works fine, so the problem is somewhere in the desktop to printer connection i assume. I ran through the windows XP troubleshooter which was predictably useless (yes i'm sure the printer is plugged in!).

Anyway, where should i start? Thanks...

reinstallng driver, diff usb port, uninstalling printer from desktop (software) and reinstalling, updating drivers, reinstalling the hp software, diff usb cable, use the parallel for the desktop and usb for the laptop.

Send a message via AIM to hiren

Try to print the test page if not then try to reinstall printer drivers.

make sure your printer is default and online on your system.
