Printer Problems On A Network

Hey Guys,
Question for you, the printers on a small LAN network just all of the sudden when i went and tried to find a printer it said "The Directory service is currently not available" now only the computer with a direct connection to the printers can print. Anyone know whats going on?

Is this a network printer or a local printer shared? If this is a network printer, try restarting the printer spooler on the server. If your using a print server, reset it. If this is a local printer and it is shared, reboot the pc it is connected to and try to reconnect to the printer. Delete the printer from control panel and re-add it. Please post results.
