Printer Problem

I have a hp deskjet 693c and every time I go to print, the feed paper light (I think thats what it's called, the annoying orange light above the button that is above the power button) blinks and the printer will not , even with the assistance of violence, pull the paper out of the tray.

pull the tray out, and poke around and see if there is a piece of paper (from your violent assistance) stuck in there that's jamming it up. It's could be that, or one of the rollers that pulls the paper down could have something on it, or could be stuck....

you don't have to be an experienced tech to figure out the source, just some patience and some fiddling around.

I think it might be the fact that I do not have a color cartridge in it, I only put a black in it.

in that case, I think it wants to print, but is on pause and is waiting for a cartridge
