Princeton LCD17 comes on, turns off immediately

My six year old monitor will come on for an instant when the power is turned on. It immediately turns off, the power light goes to amber. Seems like it goes in power saving immediately. Certainly it is old and I could trash it for a new one, but only if I am certain there is not something easy to fix. I have it completely apart so can replace the inverter or other card if necessary.

have you checked that the cables are plugged in correctly? try it on another system or test your system if the video card is faulty or not. in some cases the pins can get damaged which can cause it to not receive and signal
