Pre Boot Freeze

Built a computer for a friend 2 months back.

AMD Sempron
MSI K8VM800M MoBo with onboard video.
512 RAM
SB Live!


Everything was workin fine until last night. The screen was freezing at the Bootup screen. Right after the MEM test. I cannot even hit Delete to get into the BIOS.

The video was all messed up too, looked like chinese scribbles. I did have a spare AGP video card and it made the lettering legible....however, it is still frozen at the mem test.

Any thoughts on this? thanks.

Not sure. I don't think he did.

I just tried the RAm in the second slot. No good. Then I put it back to the first slot...no good again.

I keep getting a long continuous beep.... DRAM error.

I guess the ram fried out.
