If the power supply is not able to divert enough power to a certain part of your computer will it perform less, or will it just not operate? (say it needs to send a certain power to the Vide oCard or the Processor, but cannot will it just run them lower or stop workin all together?)

Huh? Current is supplied throughout the system. It is not "gated" anywhere. There is no harware on/off switch for each part If the PSU fails to provide adequate system power.......awful and really negative thingy's start to happen. You need to do a little electronics basic study....buy the book, "Bebop to the Boolean Boogie", By Clive Maxfield; Hightech publishing. I'm serious, you will be way ahead of the game wiht information on basic digital and analogue circuit theory. :)

i may, i was just wondering if the power supply has insufficient power to keep everything running will it just turn down or crank down the power on the processor/video card.

so Ste, if everything is runnign fine, no problems then the PSU is fine?

Also, how would i tell if my computer is having problems with the PSU?
