Question Power Supply???

I have a question about power supplies. Are power supplies one size fits all? Or if I buy a new power supply will I run into problems with compatibility?

The case I just got has a 420w power supply and I was looking to upgrade to a 500w or 520w. Do I need to buy a specific power supply based on my case and or mobo?

Yes.... the power supply must match the 'form factor' of the case & mobo.
Verify all the connectors will match the needs of your system components.....
This is an excellent link.....

For wattage it all depends on your requirements.

But Im guessing the case is ATX.

Whats your budget on a new power supply, the one included in the case is probably generic.
