My computer froze up on me about 2 weeks ago. I was doing some research and found out my computer mobo had a rep for being bad. My old mobo is an ASUS P5S800-VM. My friend got me a new mobo for christmas. It is a GIGABYTE 8I865GME-775. I looked on Newegg and no one has reported a problem with them. I put it in and hooked everything up. My lights and fans came on, but my processor fan is spinning for a few seconds and then stopping. The same thing is happening to my optical drives. Also, after a lil while, my whole computer turns off. My friend said my power supply wasn't strong enough, so I went and get a 650w PSU. I put it in, and all the same problems are still there. Is there some chance my mobo is bad, or that maybe I didn't connect something right? Any help would be good.

Try to unplug everything but the RAM CPU Video card and try that. Reset your components. When I last had a problem like this it was bad ram.
