So i have a portable battery charger, and it's not charging my ipod touch (4th gen) because the two data ports are just floated instead of sending data. anyone know of a way to modify the charger so it's usable? it's a philmore BH3413. i know it's not broken and i know this is the problem because it was a previous problem for the mintyboost, and the charger works with my cell phone.

The usb charging specs are different for a ipod or pad than with any other usb device. You need to type USB charging for ipod in google and it will show a diagram. I believe that the two center pins on the usb are wired together. Bur you should check before trying this. If i find something i will post back with info.
