Default Poor DVD Playback

my comp does everything great except dvd playback.

it will play the dvd's just fine, but about 1/4 of the way down the screen there is always a line where it looks like the frame is disjointed. it seems like the fps is too low or something. i typically use PowerDVD. its frustrating that i can play FEAR at high setttings w/o a problem but i cant run a freakin dvd smoothly. any ideas? i've got up to date drivers for my gfx card... does the dvd player need new drivers or something?

Try using a different Codec. WinDVD might help.
