Please Help

I just stuck in a blank DVD (brand new out of the packet) to burn songs onto it.

I stuck it in and nothing happened..just kept making a noise as it the computer was trying to read the disc. I went to 'My Computer' to see if I could access it from there but it indicated that the drive was empty.

What could the problem be? Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What drive do you have?

What disc do you have? (for example, DVD-R, DVD+R etc...?).

What program have you used to try and write data to the disc? (for example, Nero or just Windows Explorer?).

1. NC1819N ZAZ480C SCSI CdRom Device [CD-ROM drive]
SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-352F [CD-ROM drive]

2. DVD-RW 4.7 GB

3. I use Nero but have never burned music onto a DVD..I didn't get that far as the drive did not recognise the disc.

Perhaps the disc is not compatible with my drive??

You answered your question. You only have a CD-ROM and a CD burner. You need a DVD burner, to burn DVD-RWs.
