My friend's pc started acting up in a very non-repeatable way. He lives 700 miles away and I am trying to be some assistance without him having to go to a shop before knowing what's wrong.
His specs
2x 7600GT SLI
AMD X2 AM2
2GB DDR 800 DC
His problem
Yesterday when he booted up, he was greeted by a 6x8 resolution and was randomly dropped from his internet services. When rebooting he would get different scenarios of issues. IE second boot up he would have all colours and seemed to work fine, until the system would lock-up. Another time he would have 6x8 resolution and would be able to go out to the internet just fine to some sites and not to others.
The issues seem to be extremely sporadic.
My thoughts.
Initially I had him revert back to different video drivers, but then he encountered the other issues. I definitely believe the issue is hardware, and am pointing more toward a power supply issue, otherwise MoBo.
Any thoughts?
