When I power it up, it seems to boot up fine but all the monitor says "No signal".
I tried both onboard and the gpu vga ports. My monitor is a newer monitor that is wide screen.

PLEASE HELP.

Has this monitor worked in the past on this computer?
Three things: Shot video card, bad cable, or bad monitor.
Try the monitor on a different computer and see if that works.

The monitor works on my windows vista computer with the same cable.

That didn't exactly answer the question. He asked has this monitor worked on the machine you're talking about before.

Ah, sorry. I thought he said if the monitor worked on a different computer.

Anyways, the pentium 4 has never worked on this monitor before.

EDIT: I tried making a LAN with my vista machine and the pentium 4. My vista machine recognizes it.

Some specs about your pc would help too

1.7 ghz processor
512 mb of ram
40gb harddrive
cd rom drive
dvd drive
floppy disk drive
Asus mobo (not sure what model)
Not sure about gpu
Have no idea what OS it is.

With that much memory, it might only be running XP at best. It just might be that your pc's hardware (GPU) can't handle a newer monitor. How old is this pc? and when you boot it up, What version of windows do it show?

Sounds like a bad video card to me. Try taking the video card out and using just the onboard GPU

OP said onboard does the same in 1st post :p.

@OP: when you were trying the onboard ports, did you remove the graphics card then try to bootup on onboard?
