Default pci device and usb controller

i just installed a new o/s on my friends laptop and i am missing the pci device driver and the usb controller driver where can i find these at?the make of the pc is the a hp pavillion dv1300cto

They should be on a CD that came with the Laptop or they should be on HPs website.

there is not anything on the hp site for the usb controller or the pci device

try driverguide.com. log in withe username: driver2 password: all

I know you said you couldn't find anything a the HP site but you might want to take another look, most laptops have a proprietary setup and the manufacturers pretty much *always* supply drivers on their sites somewhere.
you might find you just get a set of drivers for the specific laptop rather than individual drivers for the components.

What I mean is the USB driver is probably included in another driver package, probably the chipset drivers.
I just looked at the HP site and theres a tonne of drivers for this laptop, I sugget you try the "Intel Chipset Installation Utility"
