PCChips M871G v1.5 Problem - Secondary IDE Wont Work

Hi,
I am currently building a new computer for a friend and purchased the above motherboard. Installed everything and loaded up the comp for the first time only to find the CDRW connected to it is not been reconized. I've tried everything and no go.

But when I unplug the Primary IDE from the Hard Drive and plug it into the CDRW the computer reconizes it ???? Why is only the Primary IDE working and not the Secondary one?

Please help asap as I need this ready by tomorrow as he is off to Uni.

Check BIOS to see if Secondary IDE is enabled.

And there's also a chance you bought a faulty motherboard...

nvm, I just set it as Slave and connected it to the Hard Drive IDE lead. It was enabled in bios but like u say, its probaly faulty. Oh well, it works fine now and its not like its for me
