I have an old Compaq Presario 5726 desktop with a P3 processor and 192mb of ram and XP Home SP2. I tried putting a different video card in it and everything still works but under device manager it still shows the original video card. Why? Nothing ever came up about finding new hardware. There is no yellow exclamation mark beside the name. Could it be that the mobo does not support the card?

I'm assuming you've installed the drivers for said new video card?

Also just guessing here, but you may have to uninstall the graphics drivers for the previous GPU, then install the new drivers, then install the new card.

Nah that's not it... you first need to uninstall the older drivers, then download "Driver Cleaner Pro" then let the card install with appropriate drivers
