pc restarts when i put cd in cdrom

i have a dvd-rom and cdrw drive and every time i put a cd in CDRW drive the computer restarts
dvdrom works normal and doesnt restart
i looked at power supply and it says:
output 200 watt, alloutput extend to 330 watt max
and according to the power supply calculator i need 300 watt PS

2.8 northwood P4c 533mhz
dvdrom
cdrw,
2 harddrives
2 mice(trackball,laser)
FX5500 128mb agp
tv card
1394 pci card
wmp54gx wireless pci card
i stick of ddr
cpu fan
no case fans
 
Check to see all cables leading to the faulty CD drive are in firmly, including the motherboard connector. Check for dust as well.

If that fails, unplug your DVD drive and see if your faulty CD drive causes the restarts still.

If you have a spare IDE cable I would test that out, as well as tryin the drive in another computer if possible?

Assuming you have Windows XP: If the above fail to give any clues off, go into device manager (hold windows key down and press the PAUSE BREAK key once and click on hardware tab, then Device Manager ), and under DVD/CDROM drives heading, right click on the faulty drive, click uninstall and reboot.

I would invest in a new PSU.
One with good amps on the 12volt rail/s.
What model PSU do you have ?
