i have had this problem with my computer for over a month now.

my pc hangs whenever i start a new application or try to play a video file or try to uninstall any application. this condition started when i formatted my hard disk and tried to install windows xp.

for some reason i have not been able to load any operating other than windows 98se on my pc.

configuration of my pc:

933 mhz---PIII

128mb RAM

810eFST mercury motherboard

20 + 20 GB HDD

1.44mb FDD

You do not have enough RAM to run Windows XP.... XP itself requeres (from what I have seen) a MINIMUM of 256 MB of ram.

Have you thought about upgrading the computer with a stick of 256 MB or 512 MB RAM?

and if youll find any they can easily replaced at any electronic repair shop wouldnt cost much

anyway regardless to the issue the best os for your pc is 98se

Easy, your computer can't handle it.... Too little ram to run, If XP hogs up to 75-80% of 128mb of ram that leaves virtually nothing for you and your apps. Trying to run XP on that system is like a 600pound man riding a childrens party pony. The poor thing can't handle the burden, also too just go back to 98SE, or even windows 2000 or millenium. That computer must be at least 7 years old, it is seriously XP that is doing that though.

128 mb of ram is just too little for now, an example is that farcry can run on 256 memory but only at 10 fps. Never go by the minimum standard, examine the recommended specifications and use them as a guide rather than the min.

Good Luck with everything!!!
