Hello everyone
I have a PC with ASUS P5GPL motherboard and 2x256MB Kingston DDR RAM. Today I've bought 2x512MB Kingston DDR, because I wanted to have 1,5GB of memory. Unfortunately, my BIOS detects only 1024MB, and every time I boot I get a message: "Due to chipset limitation, this motherboard can only support maximum 2GB and 4 ranks memory.". But why? AFAIK 1,5GB<2GB ;-) I'm sure that my new RAM works fine, I've already tried to boot without my old 2x256.
I did a thing called "Crucial system scan", and, surprisingly, it detected whole memory properly:
256 MB
DDR PC3200
512 MB
DDR PC3200
256 MB
DDR PC3200
512 MB
DDR PC3200
But bios, windows and cachemanXP say that I have only 1024MB :-(
I'm totally confused... Does anybody have a clue?
Thanks in advance for any help!
