I wonder if anyone has seen this problem before. I have a 19in Sharp monitor...it's now about 4 years old. I had it connected to an HP Desk top (model m300y). When you first boot up the system, the screen comes on...and after 5 seconds, it goes blank (black). Bestbuy indicated it would be too expensive to look at and fix, so buy a new one. Well, I did buy a new. Since then, I've noticed that the monitor works on laptops, but not on desktops. If I plug into my dell latitude laptop, it works. If I plug into my dell 1525 laptop, it works. I plug into my Gateway or home built desktop, the screen comes on for about 5 seconds and goes blank. By the way, the same problem occurs when I connect the monitor to a Dell desktop. Anyone seen this kind of problem before?
