hey,

bought a brand brand new tri-sli pc,
it has 3x8800gtx's and a 1300w psu.
Vista Ultimate x32

I keep getting messages by Nvida power indicator
that my cards are not receiving enough power,
or messages that say that they might be getting too hot so they turn the cards performance down to compensate.

Ive seen no differences on screen, and games still seem to perform the same,
not only that but ive had the system on almost 10 hours straight and still no issues, and sometimes the message doesnt appear for a while.

I have 2 small fans that came with the pc in plastic wallets, but im sure they dont expect me to fit anything, thats their job.
besides its already got two huge fans.

Any ideas on what the problem is or what to do?
Thx in advance:)

Pix? Specs of your rig, especially your PSU? We've got no details to go on here...

Nice Rig there. first time hearing tri sli 0_o (i need to keep up)
anyway what does the BIOS say about the Motherboard temps?

and.. my i suggest a PCI Fan cooler? SPECTRUM FAN CARD

I doubt your getting enough airflow to cool those cards. They already run uber hot, and when you stack 3 together there is hardly any room for them to get air to cool down.

well, there are two big vents at the side of the case,
so i can see inside, that there is loads of room.

The case is a huge, server sized case,
there is a massive fan ontop of the CPU's
and another massive one just underneath the PSU.

Could the temperature being too high, make vista come up with the error
that there is not enough power going to the cards?

Is there any chance this is a Software error of somekind?

I put my hand at the back of the system and yea its really **** hot,
like untouchably hot.
My old 6600GT wasnt like that at all.

Ive never installed any fans before,
and by looking at whats inside, it doesnt look too obvious from a beginners point of view, where to put one?

You defintely need to feed those puppies some cool air. Scorched silicon ain't pretty.

Vents are better than nothing, but they don't put the air in the right place. Either some direct ductwork with fan forced air, or maybe an added side fan or two with some 90 degree ducts to point it ai the cards intakes.
