not recognizing external HD

hey well I did a fresh format today, and now I cant see my External HD!
its a
Fantom TFDU12072A 120GB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive

Try right-clicking on "My Computer", and clicking "Manage". Then click "Manage". Click on "Disk Management", and see if it shows up there. It might be that Windows cannot assign it a drive letter for whatever reason. Is it a brand new external hard drive?

I don't suppose it's a firewire HD is it? If it is, you'll have to install the driver for your firewire card...

But like STATus h2O said, if it's not formatted, then it won't show...

no its not firewire, well its not showing up in disk Mngment but I do see it as disk 1 "unallocated" im assuming it needs to be reformatted how do I go about doin this. cant remember..
