Hi...

I'm puzzeled...

I installed some more RAM in my pc about a week ago.

While I had the case open I thought i'd get the hoover out and get rid of any dust... LOTS OF IT!!

Well my CPU fan now makes lots of noise... and ive no idea why...

It sounds like its catching on something... however on closer inspection its completely free of dust and debris.. and it doesnt seem to catch on anything...

Im stumped... ive tried everything to stop it...

Is it time for a new CPU fan?

The fan in my side-window was doing the same thing. Sounded like it has hitting a cable. I took it off the side, and found out the "blade" part (all one piece) could be pushed in and out about 1/8". There wasn't a screw holding the blade on, I guess it was just pushed around a notch, or something. My guess is just to replace it. Maybe let some other people answer first, though, because I'm not entirely sure.

When u used the vaccuum u prolly pulled the FAN blade out, try pusing it in a little see if it fixes it. If now take the fan off and see if there is something in the fan chassey or in ur heatsink.
