Default No video signal

A friend of mine gave me his older tower since he bought a new one.Now all worked when we disconnected it but now i plug it in and i have no video signal. everything else comes on including all 5 fans and the digital really lost here.

see if the video card is seated properly in the agp slot

Is reseating the video card doesn't work, take it out and use the Integrated Graphical Processing Unit (GPU). If it boots and you have a monitor signal, go into BIOS and set the video priority to AGP or PCI Express.
