Supposedly this ECS P6VEM3 motherboard uses an SIS chipset, and the ECS website's sound driver for this board is for an SIS 7018, which installed without a hitch, but without sound, and showing no active sound device in the device manager. The weird thing is what I see on the board is a VIA VT1612A chip. However, when I try to install the VIA driver, the installer aborts, saying there is no appropriate hardware installed. The onboard sound has been enabled in bios. Any ideas?
