No internal sound,can I use a external saound card?

Hey All,1st post,using a medical cow that the hospital I work at threw out.It has a internal wireless which I finally got configured,but guess what no sound!Used device mgr and confirmed it.It's p4 1.4.20 gig HD.2 usb outs,question can I buy a external sound card?I planned on putting a ext DVD to it,but will wait to see if it's worth putting $ into.Thanks,Gary

PS a cow is a mobile PC to move around an ER in a hospital,all in one as the CPU is in the monitor,no outs or cd or dvd drives, just 2 usb ports.

I don't think there is a such a thing called 'External Sound-card' unless you mean a PCI slot Sound Card.

Experience my friend. There are external sound cards that go by USB or firewire.
