no auto-shutdown

This is actually a software problem, but I thought I'd put it here anyway. I have an older Intel Celeron that I'm thinking of selling, but before I do I need to get it to shutdown automatically again. If I keep doing it manually, then that's hard on the....hardware, over time, right? It might have been spyware that I downloaded that's preventing the auto shutdown, but none of my anti spyware programs are helping. Any ideas?

if your going to sell it then format it! and yes it will kill ur hardware
