My HP Pavilion ZD7000's power jack failed (I think). I've already received a replacement part, but I need a good soldering iron and more than a little advice for this type of job.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good soldering set? Brand names? Adjustable iron wattage or no? Suggested melting points for the solder (type?) on a laptop motherboard? Accessories? My price range is about $30.00, but I'm willing go higher; I plan to use this set for other jobs in the future.

Any advice (or properly labeled joke) is appreciated.

This one is pretty nuts and not that bad of a price.

Yep. Instant MB Frikasee (Fried Motherboard ;) )

I don't have any experience with Butane and the minimum wattage on this model is 30 W. I've been told that I should look for a 15W iron if I want to work on a laptop MB. I guess that an ideal iron would be 15W/30W adjustable. Are there any reputable brand names for this kind of iron?

Now you're speaking my language. Nevertheless, I could go for something a little more complete, like a workstation.

Thanks for the input.
