Unhappy New PC, low FPS

Hey there

So I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but here goes:

So i recently built my new PC.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.66Ghz
ASUS P5B Motherboard
ASUS Nvidia GeForce 7950GT
4 GB Corsair RAM (4x1GB)
250GB Hard drive
Antec 550W PSU

Ok so the only real 'game' I play is Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9). Don't know if anyone here is familiar with it. Anyway, I was expecting good FPS with it. However, with default planes, scenery, no clouds etc, I only get FPS of around 10. This has been going on for ages

I ran 3DMark06 yesterday, and got a score of 3071. Now I don't know for sure, but I thin this is incredibly low for my system.

I'm using the 93.71 drivers.

Any help, would be great. Anything I can do to get the FPS I was expecting, and not the 10 I get!

ensure you have drivers for everything and that the PCI-E 6 pin power connector is connected to your 7950GT

edit: also set the game to run on one core of the processor to see if that helps.
