I would appreciate any help on this matter....I've just put together a HTPC, but unfortunately although it powers on OK, it powers off after only a few seconds. I have a list of parts, but is there something obvious that I am missing?

It seems as though the PC is powering down as a fail-safe, but I can't think what might cause it to do so...

AMD A8-3850, Asrock A75M mobo, Silverstone SST-ST45SF 450W, 60Gb OCZ Agility 3 SSD, 8Gb RAM

Does it make it/through POST? Do you have a mobo speaker in it (to hear the BIOS beep codes if it gives one)?

NO Mobo speaker :( ... on the advice of one of the many people who knows better than me, I disconnected everything, placed the motherboard on a workbench, and tried connecting another power supply (Rosewill 400W), and to another outlet (it was going through a cheap surge protector initially). No change. System still powers down (although after a longer time, so we're getting somewhere!)
