new build wont turn off

hi i have just built my own computer and it wont turn off i have to keep turning it off by the button on the case ! when i press shut down n windows it prepares to shut down but then this blue screen appears for a couple of seconds and then it restarts ! does anyone have any advice ? cheers chris

I'm guessing it'll be a driver issue. Try entering windows w/safemode. Also, check out your temps in bios.

wow thats a wierd 1 , never had that happen . Ive seen windows go blue screen when i had a faulty DVD disc in the DVD drive , the screen just went blue then i ejected the disk and it went back to windows.
Maybe try disconnecting the optical drives and see if the problem goes away. It acts like windows isnt able to control somthing so it resets.
Try disconnecting all unesential hardware to narrow it down.
Go over the front panel connectors and make sure there right.
