New build strange issues.

Hey guys,

I recently put together this build:

i7-2600k
Asus p8z68 V Pro
8gb crucial ram
Nvidia 480gtx
1tb hitachi Sata drive
antec water cooler

My problem is specifically related to severe under performance in prime 95: which appears to fail immediately after starting. Add to that a rather poor mark in 3d mark11. Anytime i try to change a setting in the bios I get a BSOD. If I try to use turbo mode in the included ASUS software I get bsod. I updated the original bios but still no change. I ran checkdisk just to make sure the hdd was good, it passed. I also recently ran memtest86 and my memory passed everything except test 7 the block test.

Is this one failure enough to lead to all my problems?

The only other thought I had is that it could be that my powersupply is too low. Its 600 watts. Is that too low for my system? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am getting very frustrated .


As an aside to any mods, I accidentally posted this in the building and upgrading section initially. Not sure how to delete it...

What manufacturer is you PSU?

Do you have the latest video drivers?

Do you have Speedstep enabled in BIOS?

Speedstep is enabled, I left everything on default.
I do have the lastest video drivers
the PSU is a thermaltake.

The error code I am getting in BSOD is 124

Yes, if you have 1 memory error you can have all theses errors.

Its easy to test, just pop out the bad stick.. Then giver again.
