So putting together a mATX comp for the wife, got the mobo in, cpu, ram ect..and when she boots up I get to the XP loading page with the progress bar on the bottom but no further it then re-boots its self into mode selection (safe or normal) and continues the cycle.
Is this a protection thing with XP as I'm using all new parts except the psu and hd? Microsoft protection thinking i may be scamming the system and therefor have to go buy new OS?
Just curious before i go trying anything else....so to sum up, new RAM, mobo, cpu (onboard video). old hd with Xp installed and old 450watt psu.
BTW, tried this with two hd's and get the same result, both have XP on them...hence my guess.
