For me anyway :D

So I've just put my new PC together and every seems to be ok (installing SP2 as we speak so drivers stop yelling at me that they're outa date).

Except the hard drive only registers 124GB, out of what should be 500, little help? heh.

SP2 hasn't fixed it =/

I was hoping it would but its still registering 127GB only, except in disk management and the bios where it reads the full 500

it is because the drive was only seen as 127 before....after the svc pack it can be seen and addressed...though now you will have to mount/format it and the extra space will be treated like a new drive.

you could find apps that will merge the partitions...or build yourself a slipstreamed Windows install and redo your system that way.

it's actually quite easy IF you wanted to do it...

for example
have your Windows disc...copy contents to a folder you make like "WinXP test"
download service pack file....
Download details: Windows XP Service Pack 2 for IT Professionals and Developers

create a folder called toryn or sp2 or whatever you like in c:

open command prompt (replace sp2 with whatever you decided doesn't matter):
cd \
cd sp2
xpsp2.exe -x:c:\sp2 [ENTER]

next navigate to that folder:
cd i386 [ENTER]
cd update [ENTER]
update -s:c:\winxp test [ENTER]
