In Need of a New Sound Card

I've had this problem for awhile now. My sound will simply just cut out, then cut back in. The time between cut out and cut in varies.

I just tested different speakers, and the problem persists as I type. I'm left with one option, new sound card. Correct?

What kind of sound card do you currently have? Does the sound cut out no matter what software or games you are using?

As far as I know the soundcard is built into the motherboard.

Yes, sound will cut out no matter what I'm doing, though not every day.

WOW... it's like a magic.... I love playing with the 24bit crystalizer slider. As you are listening to a song you move it from minimum to maximum... and vice versa... You can instantly hear the difference...
