Default Need Help with Processor

Hi. My computer is a Gateway GT5464 with this motherboard. 1009562 1009544 | Gateway Gt5464 Gt3240m Motherboard

It says it supports Intel Core 2 Duo. So will it work if I buy this? - Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 Wolfdale 3.06GHz 3MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor BX80571E7600

If not, can someone point me to something better then what I have?

Right now mine says Intel Pentium D 1.60 GHz
