I am having problems with a newly purchased external NEC ND-3450A dvd+-RW drive. I was able to successfully create two dvd's after buying this drive, but I am now unable to get any blank media to be recognized. Whenever I put in a blank DVD, the dvd drive is recognized as a CD drive, and I get the following message when trying to access it:
F:\ is not accessible.
Incorrect Function

I have tried putting in both a DVD for one game, and a CD for another, and they both get recognized. I have tried updating my dvd drive, but the updater gives me the message:
Target NEC ND-3450A is not found correctly.

I made sure that I am indeed using a NEC ND-3450A. Is there anyway of me being able to write to dvd's?

edit: I would like to add that I tried using the same dvd drive on my brother's computer, and it did not work there either. I wasn't sure if that information would help.

the thing that id do would be to uninstall the device in device manager, then reboot and few times without the optical drive in, then plug it back in, then d.load latest, or second to last driver.

But if its not working on another comp it may be a hardware problem.
