Okay about a month ago I installed another os on my external hard drive and then I got rid of it. Then windows wouldn't recognize it so I went to the disk manager and formated it from there. Ever since then windows recognized it but instead of it being recognized as removable storage it is recognized as a local disk. Can someone please help me because I really need it to be recognized as a removable disk.

Do you mean in My Computer it's showing up under the group "Hard Disk Drives" instead of "Devices with Removable Storage"? Or do you m ean that the drive is named "Local Disk"? If it's just named "Local Disk," open up My Computer > Right click on the drive > rename > rename to w/e you want. And, all of my external HDD's show up under "Hard Disk Drives" rather than "Devices with Removable Storage."
