I've got an annoying issue with my PC, my PSU died not long ago so I replaced it but that didn't solve the problem. It revealed new ones.

At first, I would only get a flicker of life from the CPU fan, so I reseated everything and removed any excess cables. With only the RAM, CPU and graphics card connected, my motherboard cycled through and beeped once. I thought all was fine, so I relocated my machine to it's usual spot and hooked it up to the monitor. Switched it back on, no cycle, no beep and no display.

I tried a second motherboard, with only one stick of RAM plugged in, the CPU and a graphics card. Still no display and no beep from POST. I have no idea what's going on, I've tried resetting the CMOS on both motherboards, three different graphics cards, having the motherboard out of the case and all the usual checks.

Quite frankly, I'm stumped. I'm thinking it might be my CPU?

For reference my hardware is -

EVGA X58 1366 socket mobo
ASUS P6TD Deluxe 1366 mobo
Intel Core i7 920 CPU
Corsair XMS ddr3 triple channel
750w Coolermaster PSU (modular)
Nvidia GTX 285 Graphics card
Nvidia Quadro 600
